I had Zero hour. I don’t think we had dates. It was too early & there was no oxygen at that time of day!

I remember this very well ! See I was paired with Steve Webster who refused to go on our assigned date. After explaining to Ms. Sexton my many attempts to communicate with Steve that this wasn’t an option, it was just for a grade, we were not dating, we would not get married, etc., she gave him one last try and he refused again. I received an A and he a F or at least that’s what she told me 🙂 Yep, I don’t know why I got “Miss Ideal Date” in 78 – heck I couldn’t even get this one !! lol

Tracy Cornman Hoien & I went to the Chandelle. I ran out of money so she lent me some. Man, I was crazy for her!

As some might remember I was quite the ladies’ man. I was fortunate enough to be paired with Kelly Morris. In hindsight I’m lucky Kelly didn’t just excuse herself to find a pay phone and a ride home. Anyway, I made her sit in the car while I bummed some doobies from Kevin Loveall, (who, I hear recently passed away–what a nice guy he was), then we went to the discount movies to see “Hardcore” with George C. Scott–the story of a father who searches for his missing daughter in the seedy world of the porn industry. I am STILL noted for being a super romantic date planner. I’m also pretty sure she had to listen to Mahavishnu Orchestra in my Ranchero. Thanks Kelly for being polite.

It probably wasn’t all that funny to you.

Scott B. H. Davis, first of all, I am amazed that you still have your schedule for 12th grade! Second, what was late arrival? How did you manage to get to not arrive at school until 2nd hour? I remember zero hour and early release, but not late arrival.

  • Jeff Wilson
    Posted at 01:53h, 31 May

I actually had late arrival and early release 2nd semester. I was also on the Magazine Staff so I only had one class that I really had to attend that whole semester. Gave me way too much free time to get into trouble. For that reason none of my boys had the opportunity to have a schedule like that.

  • Andi Hyde Anderson

Jeff, so funny that you say that about your boys. I had a blow-off schedule sr. year (English, Spanish, Marriage & Family, and Psychology) and almost flunked out of college my sophomore year because I had no clue how to study. Consequently, I have not allowed either of my girls to have blow-off sr, years!

Andi Hyde Anderson I knew a couple of people had late arrival AND early release…HA.

Andi Hyde Anderson I only needed 5 credits to graduate. I had late arrival so I could take my sister to Rollingwood instead of Wiley Post. I use to take orders for Dandee Donuts for 2nd hour. The only drawback was parking.

I think I would have missed hanging out in Pirate Hall before school if I’d had either zero hour or late arrival!

I used to work at My Pie!! We got a free small pie at the first of every shift..that Was THE BEST PIZZA anywhere..Kathy Menke also worked there, and Kathy Callaghan and.Richard T. Carstens was a cook there..he had a great gag i wish I would have thought of..he would call in a pizza to go with anchovies and it would be a no show..of course nobody else wanted a pizza with anchovies so he got to take it home..remember that Rick? Very Clever! I got fired form there when I pretended my mom was in a wreck so I could sneak out and see my boyfriend Jay Harney…BUMMER!

Nope, I do not recall every liking Anchovies, maybe Tim Rybinski? Not Randy Kamp or Vernon Loveall, I was always a sausage, mushroom and onions kind of guy. I look back on the My Pi days with great memories. I loved midnight football at rotary park! Ping-pong at ? attic apartment…
