It wasn’t me. Really, it wasn’t me. Facebook is no place for anyone admitting to anything.

Ok, full confession…I was part of the fireworks group. I had a pack of 1000 go off under my chair…crazy!!! I’m just thankful that my brain fully developed after high school.

Our class is not famous…we’re infamous. What a great distinction. Looking forward to the reunion!! Long live the PIRATES!

We had ping pong ball guns!! Would have taken too much effort to throw them!! As the “faculty” approached I passed mine back to Shelby Stone and looked confused at their anger!! Great memory!!!

I saw the caption and I just started laughing hysterically. My mom is still put out by what she calls our “shenanigans”. I remember when my sister graduated from PCN in ’87 and she was all, “thanks, Andi. Thanks to your class we can’t have any fun at all!” 😀

Stan Jennings sat behind me that night and lit a pop-bottle rocket off under my chair which went no further than under my chair. Quite the surprise, lol!

Sorry for all the posts, I just keep remembering stuff while I sit here and eat my breakfast… somewhere there is the Student Council “movie” that was shown in an assembly in the auditorium the last week of school. We had it at the 10-year and played it. I have no idea what happened to it. If someone knows it’s whereabouts, let’s get it put on DVD as well, and either youtube it or sell copies at the reunion. I’d love to see it again. I know there’s a teeny-tiny part with me and Janet (Killmon) in it. She’s been gone 18 years this month.

Due to the frog throwing incident, (I have since apologized to Frank Dooley–we didn’t know who was on stage at the time), there were strategically placed teachers in the chairs kind of all around Pat Dunlap, (my alphabetically dictated neighbor), myself and, if memory serves, Cliff Blalock who was a row or two up at graduation. You could tell some time was spent looking at a diagram of the seating. I had marshmallows in my pockets and a squirt gun but each time I began to rummage inside my gown our assigned guards would simply hold out their hands and I would give up my merrymaking supplies. Looking back, we really went out on a limb to make sure Osage made a lot of money.

One more memory: when I arrived at the Frog Party, fully lifted and beyond any legal limits, the first voice I heard was OKC Police Officer Homer Barnett, my Dad’s best friend from high school. He said to me he was glad I was there to tell the organizers they’d be shutting down the party and arresting all the underage drinkers as soon as his back up arrived. He was kidding but I stood there watching the doors for quite a little while waiting to see if I needed to run out the side.

Was the movie Andi is thinking about the one from the Class of 1978 with the We are the Champion song? Isn’t that what we showed at the 10 year?

  • Andi Hyde Anderson
    Posted at 18:26h, 04 March

No, each senior class had it’s own movie highlighting the year. Someone has ours. I just don’t know who. We did show it at the 10 and maybe at the 20 also.

The video I’m taking about is grad ceremony in the stadium. With the rockets and firecrackers and smoke bombs and the stampede off out of the stadium and on to the :”FROG PARTY” at the Myriad. that the video I want to see! Almost the craziest night of my life. Well maybe not! LOL!

Shelly you are probably right. I have sent Frank a message to see what he knows about the Senior Class film.

haha! I sent him a message too Tim Cain 🙂 I also heard that it’s possible that Bill Ferguson may have it.

Actually, I think Jeff Bernardy had a huge hand in the film, being a STUCO officer. It was STUCO that did the film, and I think he did a lot of the actual filming through the year. There was another film that Wayne Coe, et al did that was a spoof on Superman. Then, there was a film that some company came to show at an assembly where they played Crystal Ball by Styx in it. I know – memory like a steel trap. Except for the important stuff. 😉
