HOLMES-COFFEY-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, Durant, OK

Linda Epperley asked me to post this here

"My Daddy, Charles "Cowboy" Epperley, passed away this morning at age 83 in Durant. He has been ill & in & out of hospital/SNF since mid-August. Some of you knew him as my Dad, some as a PCHS counselor or Vice-Principal, some only through my FB page. We believe he was ready, but will miss him so. Services pending with Coffey-Murray. Please recall some good thoughts of my Dad & remember us in your prayers."

"Services for Charles Epperley will be at http://www.holmescoffeymurray.com in Durant at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, with burial to follow at Caddo. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday night from 6-7 pm. To all family & friends – my Mom would want me to tell you that if you cannot attend due to illness, work, or holiday plans, we understand completely. If you attend, Dad would always encourage you to "take the scenic route" as you travel. Comfortable clothing is encouraged, fishing pole optional. Gary will be here this afternoon and we will compose obituary after he arrives. Please feel free to share. We greatly appreciate the remembrances, love and prayers that are pouring in. ."

Thanks for sharing Byron. Two memories: 1) a justifiably enraged Mr Epp rescuing a poor sub for Mrs Sexton’s 5th hour Sex Ed class who had the ill-fortune of having to sub just as we were covering the female anatomy – we were brutal, 2) Mr Epp embarrassing Dr Card with an unexpected mid-class interruption to inform us she had just recvd her doctorate.
He was a good man. RIP Mr Epperley.
